Following on from the ‘Comics: a sketched narrative’ course, this second part is dedicated to the self-publishing of narrative and drawn forms. We continue to work experimentally on the aesthetics of doubt, resourcefulness and graphic gestures specific to storyboarding, focusing each student’s practice on a unique publishing project.
Self-publishing is approached from both a theoretical and practical standpoint: from the history of the fanzine to the techniques of multiple publishing, each participant acquires autonomy in his or her narrative and editorial approach – from the first intuitions to the railroad track, via the choice of printing methods, right through to the question of designing a book object and distributing it.
Material to be provided by the trainee (list given on registration).
*Classes will be suspended during the Christmas holidays and will continue during the winter holidays.
