Acquire the fundamental bases of drawing through composition, line, proportions, volumes and modelled values. This is a solid, practical introduction to drawing.
This course focuses on observation, so that the student learns to situate a shape in the middle of others, to simplify it so as to be able to read it, memorise it and finally reproduce it by moving from three to two dimensions. Corrections are made according to each student’s level, from beginner to advanced. During the lessons, the specific features of each technique freely chosen by the student are addressed, as well as questions of proportion, foreshortening, the rendering of light and space, and contemporary artistic issues, with reference to works of today as well as those of the past.
The poses are alternated at very different times. The long exposures allow for an analytical study of the forms and more elaborate compositional work. The shorter periods encourage a more intuitive approach to drawing.
Materials to be provided by the student (list given on enrolment).
*Classes will be interrupted during the spring holidays from 14 April to 27 April 2025.
