The drawing sessions take place in various locations in Paris, chosen for the diversity of observation opportunities they offer. Gardens and landscaped areas, notably the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Buttes-Chaumont, and the garden of the Musée du Quai Branly, provide an opportunity to explore the relationship between nature and architecture, the perception of space, perspective, and composition. Other visits, to the botanical garden, the menagerie and the Grandes Serres du Jardin des Plantes, as well as the Musée de Minéralogie des Mines, invite participants to pay particular attention to living things, matter and color, shapes, rhythms, and textures, opening a dialogue between sensory observation, analytical observation, and artistic representation.

Materials to be provided by the student (list provided upon registration).

*Classes will be suspended during spring break.
The course is taught in French.
