The aim of the course is to explore the immediate relationship between the gaze and the gesture: to capture the form. The study of the living model is worked on as a whole, to capture the unity and coherence of the human body.

The teaching favours rapid poses to avoid concentrating the eye on details, knowing how to grasp the essential so as not to weigh down the hand drawing.
Water-based techniques such as watercolour, gouache, ink and diluted acrylic are favoured because they dry quickly and are transparent, making the energy and momentum of the brushstroke visible.

The acquisition of technical skills based on primary colours and their mixtures enables students to learn about chromatic palettes, the components of colour and the phenomenon of light as the course progresses.

This workshop provides sufficient knowledge and practice to allow students to paint freely.

You will need to bring your own equipment (a list will be sent to you when you enrol).
