Throughout the course, we will work on the technique of observational drawing, approaching it by theme (lines, composition, light/shadow, etc.) in a variety of exercises. Each day of the course, we will be accompanied by live models and will take advantage of the diversity of the group to enrich our subjects.
We will regularly discuss the drawings produced during the day, so that everyone can learn from each other’s work and get to know each other better as the course progresses.
Our research into portraiture will be accompanied by artistic and literary references that will enable us to develop our thinking, starting with the classic portrait/self-portrait and moving towards a more open approach, to enable each of us to develop a more personal relationship with the subject.
