Experiment with drawing by observing different objects. The sessions focus on exercises in composition and material, using a range of techniques (charcoal, pencil, felt-tip pen, Indian ink, pastel, collage, etc.). The key is to combine the intention of the hand with that of the eye, and to assimilate the translation of a line, shadow, transparency, colour or space according to the technique chosen.
Everyone is encouraged to experiment in order to technically understand the specific plasticity of each object, and how these particularities can intersect, collide or superimpose to build a new image on paper.
Several themes are proposed over 2 or 3 sessions throughout the session, with examples of existing artistic practices and time for discussion around the drawings produced.
You will need to bring your own materials (a list will be sent to you when you register).
*Classes will be suspended during the Christmas holidays and will continue during the winter holidays.
