The sessions will focus on composition and material exercises thanks to the range of techniques that make up the diversity of drawing (charcoal, pencil, felt-tip pen, Indian ink, pastel, collage, etc.), the main thing being to combine the intention of the hand with that of the eye and to assimilate the translation of a line, a shadow, transparency, colour or space according to the chosen technique.
Each student will be encouraged to experiment in order to understand technically the plasticity of each object, and how these particularities can intertwine, clash or superimpose themselves to build a new image on paper. The proposal aims to learn to look, to sharpen one’s eye and to succeed in faithfully retransmitting on paper the observation of various objects with a personal intention, whether it be in a sketch or in a more accomplished drawing. Several themes of work will be proposed over 2 or 3 sessions (depending on the level and progress of each student) throughout the year, with examples of existing artistic practices to guide the students, and moments of exchange around the drawings made.
Courses are taught in French. Material to be provided by the participant (list communicated at registration).
Break in classes during spring break from April 24 to May 08, 2023.
