This workshop is designed for both beginners and experienced amateurs who wish to acquire or deepen their knowledge of the basics of observational drawing, drawing from life, and drawing from sculptures, in the exceptional setting of the Chapelle des Petits Augustins.

Participants will learn to observe carefully so as not to neglect this essential step in drawing from nature: looking and trusting their eyes, that fundamental tool that is always at our disposal but too often replaced by measurement systems that are as complex as they are strange.

The support offered aims to provide a solid foundation in technical drawing while encouraging useful reflection on each individual’s personal and artistic development, using live models and sculptures from the Beaux-Arts collections as subjects.

The work will focus mainly on learning:

  • how to structure a drawing through graphic analysis,
how to understand the volumes of the human body and sculptures,
nuance, in order to awaken the eye and achieve a subtle balance between technique and emotion.

The sessions are enriched with individual analysis, personalized advice, and comments tailored to each person’s background and level.

Materials to be provided by the student (list provided upon registration).
The course is taught in French.
