The course is divided into three parts of forty-five minutes each, during which the model poses for varying lengths of time. The teacher is attentive to each student’s work, offering personalised advice.
The methods recommended for accurate drawing are essentially the observation of plumb lines, triangulation and the comparison of contiguous shapes.
Elements of perspective are covered insofar as they are useful for drawing the model in space and the various objects that accompany it.

Pupils are encouraged to use different techniques: pencils, pens, brushes, charcoal, but everyone is free to choose their own tools. At the end of each hour, all the drawings are brought together for a feedback session, which allows the pupils to discover what they have drawn during the time that has elapsed, to observe recurring errors and to suggest new directions for their work.

Occasionally, the teacher will set constraints on how the drawing should be framed, treated and sized.
Examples drawn from the history of old and recent art are used and commented on.
Material to be provided by the student (list given on registration).

*Courses will be interrupted during the spring holidays from 14 April to 27 April 2025.
