Acquire, the rigorous basics of oil or acrylic painting from live models, then gradually develop your own personal work. This course focuses on observation to learn how to situate a shape among others, simplify it so that it can be read, memorised and finally reproduced by moving from three to two dimensions. Corrections are made according to each student’s level, whether beginner or advanced.

Proportions, foreshortening, the rendering of light and space, and artistic concerns are addressed with reference to works from the past as well as those of today. Alternating poses at different times will enable you to work in greater depth on the gesture.

Equipment to be provided by the trainee (list given on registration).
