The aim of this course is to discover and appropriate the language of comics. We’ll take part in a number of drawing and writing games and exercises, leading to the production of comic strips. You don’t need to “know” how to draw or have any writing experience to take part.
Experimentation will enable us to thematically isolate elements of the comic strip in order to grasp its issues. This will take place in four playful approaches: drawing (“Drawing writing”), sequencing (“Discovering the mechanisms of comics”), cutting (“Playing with vignettes and scales”) and storytelling (“Inventing your own world”).
Throughout the course, we’ll discover numerous graphic works. At the end, a collection of the works will be printed, and each participant will acquire a copy.
Material to be provided by the trainee (list communicated on registration).
