From drawing the body, visible forms to the drawn image

The workshop offers a mixed approach to drawing from the living model and the challenges of shaping and completing a drawing from the sculptures and casts in the chapel.

Drawing from the live model will lead the practice of drawing towards the exploration of gestures and graphic writing through sketching, short poses, movement… Then the long poses will lead to a more applied drawing, synthesizing the observation of the figure.

In the Chapel, surrounded by casts and sculptures, the participants will deepen their drawing to arrive at a completed study: framing, composition, planes, visual perspective and atmospheric perspective, background and form, shadow and light, volumes and their restitution by the graphic techniques of shading.

The objective will be to give participants the ability to capture the living, but also to restore a form in space after having determined its framing.

Material to be provided by the trainee (list communicated at registration).
