The objective of this course, centred on the living model, is to enable students to acquire the rigorous basics of oil or acrylic painting, and then to progressively develop a personal work. This course focuses on observation, so that the student learns to situate a form in the middle of others, to simplify it in order to be able to read it, to memorise it and finally to reproduce it by going from three to two dimensions. Corrections are made according to the level of each student, whether he or she is a beginner or already experienced.

Naturally, through the specificities of each technique freely chosen by the student, the questions of proportions, shortening, rendering of light and space, and artistic preoccupations by referring to works of the past as well as those of today are addressed. Alternating poses of different lengths of time allows the work of the gesture to be deepened. The long periods (several hours) allow an analytical study of forms, a more elaborate work as well as the question of composition. With the short times (a few minutes or even a few seconds), it is a more intuitive realization which is worked.
