Drawing the body, visible forms and the drawn image
The workshop offers a mixed approach to drawing from the live model and the challenges of shaping and completing a drawing based on the sculptures and casts in the chapel.
Drawing from a live model will lead to an exploration of graphic gestures and writing through sketching, short poses and movement. Then the long poses will lead to a more applied drawing synthesising the observation of the figure.
In the Chapel, surrounded by casts and sculptures, participants will develop their drawing skills to arrive at a finished study: framing, composition, planes, visual perspective and atmospheric perspective, background and form, light and shadow, volumes and their rendering using shading techniques.
The stated aim will be to give participants the ability to capture life, but also to render a form in space after having determined its framing.
Students will need to bring their own equipment (a list will be provided when they register).
Courses are taught in French.
