Creation of a colour engraving on several plates using all the intaglio techniques: drypoint, etching, aquatint, sugar etching, etc.
For this course, I offer personalised support for a major printing project. The image will be created by dividing the colours on several matrices, which will be superimposed during printing. All the techniques of metal engraving can be used for this project: drypoint, etching, aquatint, sugar etching by lifting varnish, etc.
Initially, each project will have to be thought through: preparatory drawings, choice of format, number of colours, number of plates and, above all, choice of engraving techniques according to the graphic effects required. At the end of this stage, an assembly on layers will be carried out to visualise the final image.
Next comes the creation of the matrices, followed by work on the final proof, which involves adjusting the colours of each plate. The final stage will be devoted to printing the colour print. Each participant will go home with an edition of several copies.
The materials will be provided by the School.
Courses are taught in French.
